Our Story

Our story started with a napkin and a chance. In the modern digital dating era, our tale begins with two strangers meeting at an Irish pub—The Mean Fiddler, to be exact—one of us a patron and the other an employee.

How We Met

Kiara, on one joyous weekend while living in Maine, decided to take a weekend road trip to visit family in New York. While in New York Kiara and friends decided to have a few cocktails at the nearest Pub ‘The Mean Fiddler’. Upon entering the Pub spotted a security guard who caught her attention and immediately thought "I have to get this guy's number". As he made his rounds mustered up the courage to ask his name, he acknowledged and replies “Thomas”, once hearing the tone of his voice Kiara was sold. Immediately requesting from the bartender for a pen and scribbled her name and number on a napkin but once she was ready to locate Thomas, he was nowhere to be found. The night went on and there was still no sign of this Thomas person, after pondering as to where he could have vanished too, Kiara began to ask a few of the other Mean Fiddler staff members, but no one could confirm. Ultimately resorting to leaving the napkin with her name and number with one of the staff members in hope that it would be delivered to Thomas.

Later in the evening after Kiara had decided to leave for the night, Thomas returned to receive word and notice from his fellow staffers that there was a mystery woman searching for him. Stunned by the notion, Thomas was then handed a napkin with a name and number on it. Without knowing much of the mystery person, he boldly and confidently reached out to whom he later learned would be Kiara, the woman that introduced herself to him earlier that evening.

After Correspondence for months on end Kiara made the trip back to New York from Maine; Thomas and Kiara at this point were able to meet again formally face to face, learning more about one another. Kiara learned that Thomas was not a full-time security guard but a had a full-time career in Healthcare but was moonlighting as security for recreation and Thomas learned that Kiara was not from Maine but from the Bronx just residing in Maine as she also worked in the Healthcare field. Enthralled with their connection, Kiara extended her stay in New York; ultimately leading to her moving back to New York. Thomas and Kiara began seeing each other for several months, even living with each other for a period. After a year together, Kiara received word that she had been offered a new employment opportunity in Atlanta, which she later accepted. Thomas knowingly that Kiara would have to ultimately leave and move for this venture, he began to plan to move to Atlanta as well. Six months after Kiara had left New York and settled in Atlanta, Thomas, like that of Kiara when they first encountered each other, took a chance and moved to Atlanta to reunite with his love and the rest was history bringing us to their upcoming nuptials
